Privacy Policy
Last updated: [launch date]
Short version: wtHEIC converts your photos on your Mac and never uploads them. We only keep what we need to sell you a license and make it work.
The data controller is [Spacefarm legal name], [registered address, country]. Contact: support@wtheic.com.
Your photos
All conversion happens on your Mac. Converted copies are stored temporarily in your Mac's temporary folder and deleted automatically. No photo, file name or file content is ever sent to us.
When you buy
Paddle.com is our reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle collects your payment details, billing country and email address to process your order and handle tax. We never see your card details. Paddle's privacy policy is at paddle.com/legal/privacy.
Your license
From Paddle we receive your email address, name (if given), country and order ID. We store these with your license key so we can email you the key, resend it, and handle refunds.
Activating a Mac
When you activate, wtHEIC sends your license key and an anonymous Mac identifier (a one-way hash, not your serial number) so we can count your Macs, up to 5. We store the identifier, the date of activation, and the app and macOS version.
Updates
wtHEIC checks wtheic.com for updates. That request includes the app version and macOS version. We don't use it to identify you.
Website
wtheic.com has no ads, no analytics and no tracking cookies. Our host may keep standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for a short time for security.
Who processes data for us
- Paddle.com: payments, tax, invoices and refunds
- Cloudflare: website and license server hosting
- [Resend or Postmark]: sending your license email
We don't sell or share your data with anyone else.
How long we keep it
License data is kept for as long as your license exists, plus whatever period the law requires for order records. Ask us and we'll delete your data; note this also ends your license.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it, by emailing support@wtheic.com. If you're in the EU or UK, you can also complain to your data protection authority.
